Related question - Is there a thermostat in that oil cooler line? Are those lines not under pressure until high engine temps?
The oil cooler lines connect to a thermostat that is mounted on the oil pan. This is the other half of the installation PITA that was mentioned upthread. There are issues to watch out for with o-rings, with the retainer clip, with the thermostat itself bending. I'd suggest do just a little reading about how to install these before you get started on any replacement project.

Right - understood.

But at normal operating temp after just idling, is there flow and pressure in these lines for the UV leak test? Or only at higher temps under load?
