Opened up the back back brakes for new pads rotors. Parking brake shoes complete;y delaminated and only one of four linings still present. Checked in 2020 28k miles ago.

Heat advisory this week, its 90f already at 11 am , makes it tough to work in the garage.
I went out at 4 am, I'll get the rack reinstalled, hah, sure you will, it took me almost 3 hours just to fit the new lower Ujoint and get the tie rods swapped over from the old rack. Every single nut and bolt is fighting me, mapp heat and freeze off spray is working.

Be aware of heat ruining the seals... I did that once, sure the rack started leaking afterwards.

I ordered the steering coupler Ujoint on Monday from FCP, it was at the door by Weds via Fedex, that beats amazon.
Fitment verified by VIN for exact fit is peace of mind.

Modification (not me) , the gap is a lot wider for the pinch bolt, thats going to make it easier to expand if its still in the car.
I had to beat the original off with a hammer and chisel.

one of the balljoint studs came out of the control arm, tried levering the arm down with HF pry bar, haha, no chance.
Bought a proper pry bar $29 amazon. no problem with this one.

drop links rusted in place, cut them off and greased the new ones.
Until I order an induction heater....when I get my SS....which will be tomorrow.

test drove the new steering rack, horrible grinding sound when turning , car in motion.
Drove the car on the lift, turned the steering wheel until I felt resistence and turned the engine off, lifted the car....tie rods are hitting the inside of the wheel rims, I installed tie rods on wrong sides when swapping over from the old rack.
Swapped them over, did a quick eyeball alignment, all better, needs a better alignment to get closer.
I ordered this alignment tool kit, i'm wondering if i can attach 2 lazers.
