1998 s 70 t5 cold start whining engine noise

Put a thermostat in it with the bleed hole like the OEM one has.

Replaced the original stat with a 187F Wahler. Still the same whining noise. Is it possible that the oil cooler thermostat malfunction can cause such a noise? I believe it is located by the crankshaft pulley. Thanks.

Forget science. There is nothing so uncommon as common sense! Milage doesn't matter, the cars are old. They are like women. You need to warm them up a little bit before.....driving them! I have something that I don't think has been mentioned here. Your car has the fuel pressure regulator in the fuel line just behind engine at firewall on passenger side. There is a vacuum line that goes over top of engine, 8mm steel pipe that looks like a fuel line and sits next to the fuel line on top of engine, and if the T fitting at FPR gets cracked it whines/hisses.
My 98 got a crack in a rubber piece at that T and I stethoscoped a tone of stuff with no results. I put it on lift and had it running and found it from below.
