What are you going to use to wash filter so you can reuse it?

Put back the valve body and hooked it up. Kit came with a cork gasket.

I thought I would have my car back on the road today but nope. Transtar sent me the wrong converter...
Got the rear main seal installed and that's where I am now.

Almost there. Put the tranny back the other day and it works ok but not 100%. There are some bangs and a little bit of shift flare when taking off. Gonna try and calibrate the solenoids first and if that doesn't work I will take a look at the valve body.

Great job!! Did you remove and check/replace the B4 servo cover? If the internal washer on the cover is detached or bent flaring b/w 2-3 is the symptom. Also how many millimetres of wear does the B4 band have left? Refer this thread: https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums ... hp?t=63881

The model year you have will take around 600 miles to adapt to the new hardware. Take it from me you need to drive it to see. Make sure you reset the adaptives and the fluid counter. There is no drive cycle in the P80 TCM so that's why you just need to drive it. I have no idea how Volvo used to prepare these for sale without an adaptation cycle.

Didn't replace the b4 cover. I didn't have any problems with shift flares before it went out.
My guess is I screwed up the solenoids when I replaced the bushings. To be honest I mixed up the springs/parts for the SLS/SLT solenoids. Everything looked the same so I assumed it would be fine. No idea if that is the cause but as a first step I will go to PickYourPart and buy a "new" set and take it from there.
