P2 seats' leather ages/lasts much better than P80 Volvos

Unused tan ages well. My backseats look brand new and they're now 20yrs old. The front pass. seat back also looks new.

My steering wheel is OK as well. Parts of it are dark..maybe only the top.

The tan steering wheels do NOT fare well! I had one in my car for a short time, and I made the mistake of trying to re-dye it with some leather paint. Bad idea...
My current black leather wheel, however, is in great shape. I clean it every month or so with Lexol leather cleaner and then condition it with Lexol.

Really just a guess but I felt like there were two qualities of black leather and at least one of tan leather in the P2. May have changed along the years as well, but the trim level could also be a factor. And from what I've read (and experienced), there may have been cushions of different qualities as well for the front seats.

Besides, the seats in the S80 are more comfortable than in the S60/V70.

Did they just drive that off the factory floor into a dealer?

The side bolster is already split open (can be seen just behind the seat belt), but the lower cushion is impressively in good condition. Perhaps the driver was a 100lbs tiny lady.

Wow, that driver's seat is bad! My driver's seat bottom looked similar to your back except it was covered in red duct tape by the previous owner.
Here are my seats...

I swapped out the driver's seat bottom with one from the junkyard. It's 3990 light taupe, my interior is 3960 light beige. I'll change it to the right color eventually...

Passenger seat is all original. Just a little cracking and some tears on the front, but the back is perfect.
