I usually bring it to the recycling center where I bring my oil and coolant. They usually have a spot for solvents/paint/etc. where they can accept it.

I have a HF parts washer that has become just a table covered with junk. Filling it with 20 gallons of Oil Eater (water based) is quite an expense, and then it eventually just evaporates. I think it was a dumb purchase.

But I like Oil Eater, it's pretty effective with some scrubbing. Totally agree on strong cleaners that turn aluminum black!

Yeah, that’s the annoying part. In order to get a strong enough cleaner, you need to fill it with 20 gallons of concentrated degreaser rather than diluting it. I think I had maybe 3 gallons of Oil Eater in mine, the rest water. I could always use something like mineral spirits, but I don’t want a tub of fume-y, flammable liquids in my garage.
Once I get myself a shop, I’ll figure out a better setup!

Could it not be drained into 5 gallon buckets with lids for storage? That way its not evaporating and you could even just dunk smaller parts in the buckets.

Update:

No faults in the MCC since i resoldered all the contacts. On an added note i decided to go with full synthetic for the next change to stretch the intervals farther.

Might do a spot of rust proofing and repair on a wheel well before the canadian winter sets in. Got to buy some touchup paint and the clear coat.
