It only gave me five out of six bolts, but I'm calling that a win.
Are you using the 850 accessories? You'll find that the tensioner will foul on the outer timing cover. We put an '02 LPT RN engine into my wife's '97 GLT and used the 850 intake/accessories.

If you mark out where the tensioner bracket hits the cover and cut that section out of the cover, it will allow things to nest together and fit properly.

Also, what are you using for engine management for the dual vvt?

Yeah, I noticed the interference between the tensioner bracket and the front cover when I mocked up the accessory drive last night. Thanks for the suggestion about cutting the cover - that's what I'm gonna do. All the accessories fit fine - almost.

While the 850's power steering pump fits, the reservoir doesn't - the return line nipple clashes with the B5254T's intake manifold. I'm considering cutting it short and adding a 90-degree fitting to add a custom return line.

I'm using the ECU from a 2005 S60R to run this engine, probably with some kind of reflash to bypass the CEM immobilizer.

I'd be interested to see if you can get that to work.

Changed my oil cooler hoses since they were likely original, also I wanted to do a flush on my cooling system. Ran a gallon and a half of clean water through before filling with BMW blue coolant. Same stuff as the old Volvo blue coolant, so might as well use the BMW coolant. Plus it’s easier to keep the whole fleet on the same stuff. I had Zerex G05 previously. No issues with it, I just like blue :D

I also replaced the turbo oil drain gasket and o ring. The o ring was leaking a little bit. Nothing major, but it was easy enough to replace it while I was down there.

Did a heater core bypass on the beautiful 1999 white S70 NA “WhiteLightning” for a neighbor who has a nasty heater core leak. More to come.
