If you both end up fitting the brace, let us know if you get any noticeable handling differences. I am fairly certain those mounts on the AWD are for the prop-shaft center bearing mount so I don't think I can use the one I pulled on my R.

Once I get the car running happily, I intend to mount the 17" wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport tires and really push the car. Then I'll mount the brace and try it again to see the differences. Only trouble is, the tires are from 2011 so I don't know just how much I can push them safely. Seems like they were stored in a garage because I don't see any cracking in the tread. I just really want to have some fun with them since high performance tires are a thing I wouldn't buy for myself.

At 10 years old you will get more benefit from a set of cheap tires. The tires will likely be hard and have little grip.

One minor reason I'm interested in this beat S70 T5M is the engine computer. The previous owner of my V70 T5M replaced the engine computer with one tuned by TME (along with their exhaust). He said it made the shift points sooner because power is show increased, yielding better gas mileage. I have to research this to understand it. It would be interesting to have a stock T5M computer to swap in and see the difference. With only about 500 T5Ms in the USA, how many of these computers could there be?
No, not a strong enough reason to buy it. I really wish I could save them all

Are T5M ECU's any different to any other ECU? Is it just the program that is different. Worst case could an ECU from a regular manual version be used to clone your current ECU first and then use the copy to get it mod'd? I'd ask one of the tuner guys out there as they may be able to answer that one for you and potentially open up the number of suitable ECU's for modifying.

I took another step committing myself to this T5M: I swapped my "5-SPEED" license plates to it. They spent six years on my old NA V70 manual then two years on my NA V70 automatic. Now they're back on a Nautic Blue stick shift where they belong.
I'm trying to place a massive FCP order during its sale and preparing another order for usparts.volvocars.com for their Independence Day sale. I'll get an entire spring suspension to replace the lowering springs (one TME rear snapped, original fronts cut down) and Bilstein B6 sport shocks. Also any timing belt parts, PCV parts, fluids, and other stage 0 parts I didn't get during the last Cyber Monday sale. There's a lot of oil around the intercooler and its hoses so I'm curious how many of those to replace. I already have the lowest charged air hose which was soaked in oil. I have to review my notes carefully to buy any other parts I might need.

It was garage kept for its first 19 years, then sat outside with its trunk facing the sun for the next 6 years. Now it's spent the past six months parked under a tree with birds pooping all over it. I clean it off as fast as I can but it's still etching the clear coat all over. It will park in a better spot once it's functional.
This leads me to ask about paint and clear coat correction in that separate thread.
