Actually Vida is the ONLY Volvo factory software that helps to read anything post 1998 so anything 1999 and over.

Well now can't even reset by disconnecting battery. Car won't revup past 2500rpms. This is very discouraging. Don't have a computor to put software on, not sure what to do next.

That sounds like limp mode , Tim, usually caused by bad ETM

Lots of components in an ETM other than contact sensors. What codes does the car pull with Vida? This is the only way to find out.

Start and restart engine at least 3 times with a run of more than 5 minutes with no clearing of codes by a scanner. You should get at least an ETS light or the engine light.

Are you familiar with an ELM 327 device? You can read engine codes with a laptop or a Android or I Phone using this OBDII adapter.

Hello i have volvo s70 1999
have ETM with white tag hasn't been replaced from original.o since couple of months i am having "limp home" mode situation car runs at 20-30 miles and after 6-7 miles i restart it runs normal,this has been situation from couple months but now after u got fed up,ordered online an ETM with yellow tag replaced it gives god throttle response. But there is a big problem at start up idle surges very high and remains at that high(2000 rpm) point fluctuating there. So i guess this ETM that i ordered online didn't mate with my car.So can this be solved by updating software or for this high idle there is some other problem??
Please help i am stuck with no ride now. Also have all kind of fault lights coming on the dashboard like Check engine,brake-ABS, flashing arrow,ETS etc. but these lights come and go.they are not steady forever.Also they have no effect with this throttle body problem. Thats what i understood till now.
Please give me some insight on above problem on how to solve it.
