1+,

Tstat is cheap, about $15 for Wahler. I'd replace it.
Keep an eye on the ECT sensor, it may be next.

This line is on the backside of the engine on the passenger side. I used the IPDUSA Silicon upgrade for this. It's $19 for the 2 turbo coolant hoses. This is the "easier" one to install. There's still a trick to it though. Here's the little section of line after it's all done.
TCooler.jpg
A comparison of the old and new line clearly shows that it's swollen with age.

So the trick is to put on Passenger side first. In the picture below the front of the car is toward the top of the picture. The way I stuck my camera in for the picture necessitated a rotation for clarity. So this would be the view if you were sitting in the passenger seat and could actually see the assembly.

So you need to loosen up the bolt holding the line to the heat shield. This will allow you to pull up the line bolted to the heat shield. After securing the right portion of the tube section, position the tube's opening to the raised line you just pulled up on the left. When you let go of the metal line, the hose will get forced onto the line as it returns back to it's original position. Easy. I can't see how you'd get this line on without this trick. The gap between the two hard lines is not big enough to slide the silicon tube back and forth.
TCooler2.jpg
Post mortem - while doing this line, I realized that my lower reservoir line is now the weak link. You can see it in the first picture to the left of the turbo cooler line I just replaced. It looks like there's been a bit of seepage and also the hose is a bit swollen. Sheesh, will it never end? :?
I can also see from that photo, your bottom expansion tank hose to the block tube is bloated as well.

It took me a few looks to find all the possible failure points. It seems your cooling system was taxed fairly hard at some point.
I feel lucky that my hose failure did not kill the car. I have some confidence I have covered most all the maintenance areas, basically the whole system including radiator and heater core.
I sleep a little better.

Here's the goofy part. I've replaced everything on your list except for that lower reservoir hose.
I can't believe I didn't catch it until now.

Yeah, that's the hose I was talking about in my last post. I noticed it as well. After this hose, everything will have been changed except the original firewall coupler.

If that starts to leak, I am doing the coupler delete that many folks have mentioned.

Oh, for those who care about these things, here' s a link to a blue silicon version of the reservoir hoses. :)

A bit more than OEM, but hey....

And (slap my head) they even have a heater hose kit preformed in blue silicon. It looks like they also assume you will re-use the metal fitting off the original hose. I wish I saw this before this whole journey!

And FYI there are some silicone reservoir hoses for sale right now in the parts forum on this site, much cheaper than at Viva.

Where? Did a quick search in the forum and didn't get a quick hit. Please post a link.

I feel hesitant about adding yet another post to this thread but what the hey...

I could NOT fit the short iPd coolant supply hose to the turbo on the line all the way, the fat end. Couldn't get it on far enough to get a clamp on it. Glad I had an OEM hose handy.

I do recall having to muscle that one on becoming short of breath.
I was unable to clean the grease as I usually would.

It was a hot day and I had figured no one can see the little blue hose anyway. I left it greasy. Ha.
It was a long day of wrenching and I really was exhausted when I had put that hose on. I believe I took a nap.
"abscate" was to deliver my heater hoses from New York at that point in time while I had returned the URO hoses to the vendor. (Thanks again Steve!) I drove the sedan for the next couple weeks, which was also enjoyable.
