Ideally...you need oil level to be between min & max mark on dipstick.10w-40 should be fine, but for turbo...full synthetic oil gives the best protection.
Oil level is always being measured after the car sits overnight, before starting and ALWAYS on level surface. That's the most precise method.
It can be measured on hot engine too,but level can be incorrect.

Just checked it in the morning before I started the engine. Seems like I'm slightly over max but I only filled it up with the right amount 5.5 quarts. Hope that was correct.

Be carefull when it comes to oil level...exceeding max level can blow your headgasket.
Halfway between min & max is ideal for engine.

All right, my PCV kit arrived today and tmw will be a big day for her and me. I'll also check the knock sensors cause even with higher octane fuel (91) they still give me a code.
Wish me luck!

Check the wiring that it has not rubbed on something. I had an issue with this on my '96 and there was a Volvo upgrade kit that they sold me. Never had any more problems, but I don't know what good the kit did. It just added more wire length and an extra connector.
Of course, check out the connectors (don't get them mixed up) to make sure there is no green corrosion and spray them out with electrical cleaner.
A 10mm x 1/4" drive socket with a long wobble extension is your friend for removing the manifold bolts.

All right. Manifold is out and I checked the wiring of the knock sensors. Everything looks good. They also seem to be updated version (Bosch Number: 0261231121). I checked the ohm on both of them and they show 5 kOhm on both sides (back & front). When I start hitting the engine with a wrench the number goes down (less resistance). I guess that is all I can do to check them.
Orientation locks right. 3 o clock on the passenger side (black one) 5 o clock on the drivers side (white).
Possible other reasons the Knock sensors gave me a code could be:
- I spotted plenty of vacuum line leaks. They are fixed now.
- The support mount for the manifold was not attached to the engine. Maybe this piece was knocking against engine while driving and caused the code?!
If there is anything else I can do I would appreciate any idea before I put everything back together.

I hate to have multiple things going on all at once but you will never have an easier time to service the PCV system than right now while you have the intake manifold off. The caveat is that you haven't completely remedied the original problem with absolute certainty. I guess if it passes the rubber glove test then you would be OK to just leave well enough alone but it would be really tempting to get it done now.If there is anything else I can do I would appreciate any idea before I put everything back together.
