Update:
I did bring it into the Volvo shop in town just to have everything blessed and to get my semi-annual roadmap of things to keep in mind from tech and- I did Not cause any damage to the CV or even over-articulate.
He was convinced that the excess vibration at this point is due to a new lower right engine pad being newer and stiffer with the older mounts needing replacement.
Now it's just down to replacing the rest of the mounts and doing the subframe bushings.
As well as the lower steering U-joint which was diagnosed as and I quote: "Wiped Out"
There has always been some center play and it did bind up after she sat for a bit but it worked itself free and other than the play has been fine for years. In any event, I have a new one and it will be going in durin this block of rented garage time.
