She's no looker, but still mint. Will post some update pics soon. Starting to embrace the mismatch color schemes it's going to have for a while. Black dash, beige seats, no carpet, black door, green hatch, and flaky silver. What a combo.

Little update: I tested the A/C and it works, sort of. The charge is low but it did get colder than ambient. Too bad it sounds like a box of rocks in an out of balance washing machine rolling down a hill while scraping against a guardrail. I replaced the accessory belt with a shorter Continental 4060495 to bypass the compressor for now. Can you replace the bearings / clutch assembly on these compressors and effectively "rebuild" them?

Decided she earned an oil change, though what was in it still looked very clean. New Mann filter to replace the K&N. Replaced the petrified O-ring on the dipstick. Looks like there might be a slight RMS leak or trans input shaft seal leak (didn't quite seem like motor oil). Will check the fill in the transmission.

Still having trouble with the door. I tried adjusting it, but it still acts like the latch is too low. At least it's not catching the door panel anymore. I couldn't seem to get the lock cylinder out of the handle, so i swapped over the handle from the silver door.

Grabbed a washer pump from the salvage yard for $2. Will help with diagnosing the weak washer nozzles.

Can't remember if I mentioned I replaced the glass on the passenger side mirror.

So far only have one regular code P0410 for the air pump. Wanted to get rid of that crap anyway. Pretty sure it has an evap leak, but that code only appeared once and cleared itself. Still getting very random misfires.

I'll be passing by the S70 this week. So I can grab the new-ish wires, cap, and rotor. Pretty sure there are 5 new Bosch copper plugs in the glove box too. It stumbles off idle and misses when I really get into the throttle, but only sometimes. Kinda feels more like a fuel issue than ignition. Pretty sure there's a virgin fuel pump relay in the S70 too.

And I finally got my hands on a ball seat for the shifter (p/n 3502504). Luxury Cars Roanoke came through and they had the best price and shipping too. Not sure when it actually arrived, and I don't recall seeing a shipping notification in my email. Also not sure if I bought the last one that was readily available. :D

Well guess that was a bit more than a little update. :)

If the pump motor for the windshield washers runs and no water comes out, it could be clogged or frozen lines or dirty nozzle tips on the hood.

There is another option. At several point on the waters way to the nozzles it passes through small 'T' plastic valves. Inside them there is a little rubber diaphragm. These can seize shut with lack of use or split.

There seems to be a decent volume coming out of the nozzles, but no real pressure. It barely makes it to the bottom of the windshield. Haven't had anyone to help me hold the washer on while I inspect for leaks. Also doesn't seem like the check valve is working / there's a split somewhere. Or the pump is just bad.

Gve the nozzles a good clean or upgrade to those from a P2 Volvo from 2001- for better spray pattern. I think you may find it is one of the valves is bad and so you are loosing pressure. Does your car have headlight washers? Check they are not leaking from their pipework too as it will reduce the pressure overall.

So I had help today to play with the windshield washers. Discovered the washer line was getting pinched in the hood hinge area. Not sure why or how it is getting pinched. It appears to be routed correctly. Might just replace that line and see if it improves.

Pulled the sparkplugs to examine. Volvo plugs and they don't look bad. They are definitely well used. Gap was .040! They could probably be regapped, but I have 5 new copper plugs on hand. Will likely replace in the morning.

Conducted a glove test since the oil change. Glove isn't getting blown up, but the suction at idle seems a little lack luster. Under revs it sucks pretty good.

Replaced the petrified oil dipstick O-ring.

Replaced the well used Volvo plugs with a set of Bosch coppers I had on hand. Went for a long spirited drive to get the Odo to roll over 325k miles. No more stumbling off idle and under boost. Really should've done that weeks ago. Was averaging ~23mpg before, hopefully can get that over 25 now.

Got my hands on some diodes, so I fired up my old soldering iron. Will see if that P0410 comes back.

Checked the brakes, and all the pads look brand new. Rear trailing arm bushings look good.

Found a new oil cap seal to replace the petrified one.

The motor for the fuel door doesn't appear to work. Can hear the relay click but that's it. Must be why the latch is broken off.

Discovered the rear window washer does a better job cleaning the inside passenger rear window.

Note to self: all repairs posted thus far between 324-325k miles.

How do you guys get such good gas mileage? I can't get better than 19 mpg in normal conditions. On longer highway drives, if I reset the average, I can get it up around 22.
