Slow progress is being made on this car. I finally installed a rebuilt ABS module (Thanks Matty Moo) which took care of the annoying warning lights. Plus it's nice to have a functioning ABS system again.

Yesterday I went to NJ to harvest a complete interior from a 2000 S70, including headliner, steering wheel and all trim. This was a beautiful looking car in really nice shape, but the head gasket went and the owner decided to part it out. It was always garaged, so the interior issn't "sun dried", like the interior in my car.
The seats are in awesome shape, except the driver side bolster was rubbed through, which means I will be hunting for seats skins or even a whole seat now, possibly even for passenger side.
I also pulled some other bits like tail lights and a new driver side wiper arm.

It will be a nice winter project to clean everything and rebuilt the door panels, as you would expect they all need to be re- glued.

I just harvested beige seats from a V70, and having bought seat bottoms, might have extra bottoms. Lets stay in touch in case we can share bottoms. That sounds too personal.

I have a whole new cache of 1998 Base NA parts of course, beige 3990 interior and Stone Black 019 exterior

Wow, I am bottoming out right now :D But seriously it would be pretty sweet if you have a seat for me.
Do you know the color code by any chance? The set I just got is 3960.

Note correction on year. Not relevant for interior parts but engine stuff very differently of course

3990 on Clarke, the parts 98 V70 base car. I will be pulling major mechanicals on this one until December so no rush.

Getting more stuff done.

I replaced the big J hose for the EVAP system which was completely cracked. No more CEL and the car passed the emission test with no problem, yay :D

The headlights were in sad shape, so I replaced them with new TYC units. I am really impressed with the quality of these, and you can't beat the price at $75 each.
The bubble levels on them are a real bonus too. They will get the alignment at least into the ballpark. After some tweaking they are just about perfect now.
Just amazing what a difference new headlights make, I can finally see something in the dark.

I just noticed that I owe Matt a light pattern photo of the Hella's. Oops, totally forgot

Finally I am able to continue on my project. Last weekend I started removing the interior in the rear and I pulled out the old parking brake cables. I also cleaned up the center console and installed the nice lid from the parts car and a brand new cup holder:

I had a hard time getting the rear seat bottom out. This also happened when I removed the new one from the parts car. The brackets do not want to separate from the plastic clips. Also, in the process of yanking the seat, the bottom frame actually bent. Fortunately I was able to bend it back, but what a crappy design.
Is there any way to avoid using brute force and destroying the clips?

Initially I was going to replace the headliner and the carpet, but I think I will first try and clean the original parts. Much less work if I am able to, and less potential for breaking any fragile plastic parts.

Hey Dirk -- If you happen to come across a spare 3960 driver's side seat switch holder, keep me in mind. Thanks, Evan

Mark -- I texted you about a possible spare key find for the silver samurai.
