1998 S70 T5 Low Compression after stall, will not retart

Just so we're clear; the "valve cover sealant" is just that meaning it's for the valve cover. The head gasket normally goes on dry.

Yes I did order the $13.00 tube for the valve cover, I recieved it with my headgasket set. I thought the headgaset sealant went on dry, at least it did on my 242 turbo. This is the first valve cover that I will only use sealant to install. Did anyone use a special tool to keep the camshaft pulleys on spot? What did you use Greasefingers?

The Haynes manual shows you how to make a tool to do this. Do you have a copy?

I only have a Chiltons Manual, I believe I seen a picture on a forum made fron angled aluminum.

If you're having problems slipping the belt past the crank pulley, you can always remove the crank pulley(not the sprocket; just the pulley). I always remove the crank pulley when I change my timing belt. It just makes the job so much easier and I can see what I'm doing.

That huge crankshaft nut looks like serious business! I did not have an impact wrench as well. Can you get it off without air tools?

There are also four perimeter bolts on these pulleys. I assumed that they are to keep both the crank shaft pulley & the crank shaft gear moving in sync. I will feel like a dummy if you tell that the four small bolts hold the pulley on the shaft

Yes the four smaller bolts hold the pulley on. Just remove them and put a puller on the edge of the pulley and it'll slip right off.
