Finally had time to work on the strut assemblies on my V70 T5. Removed the mounts, washers, spring seats, cross nuts, etc., and replaced with new! The old mount was so rusted the bearing did not move at all. In fact, I had to spray some liquid penetrant on the mount where the bolts stick up to loosen the rust that had developed in order to remove the assembly from the body! Just have to lower the car and torque the primary (top mount) nut holding the new parts in place!
I've attached a few pictures:

Spring compressors really make this job easy!
Thanks go to Neil for his help on this project!
Next: wheel alignment and newer tires!

Such extravagance, far too many cable ties on that, half the amount would suffice

The Scottish design is quite effective, it would appear!

And wow... those are crusty. You never see strut mounts that bad around here.

I agree, way too many zip-ties! Could have saved about 10c on that and decreased safety margin at least 100%!!

I am one of many on here that just love to help where we can! You are the guys that do all the hard work and spending money on parts!
I can live with that.........!

I have never seen strut bearings that bad! Wow, you might be able to turn the steering now!

OK, the Zip tie spring compressor photo was fun, but PLEASE DO NOT USE ZIP TIES TO COMPRESS DANGEROUS SPRINGS!
You can get hurt or killed!

Totally agree with that! Even many of the spring compressors out there are an accident looking too happen. It is one of the few jobs I am very wary of doing, and careful when doing so!
