First of all, I need to say a BIG thank you to everyone on this forum. You guys are always helpful and have great tips on what to do when trouble arises. Right now that old saying "When it rains, it pours" is applicable to my P2.
Well, I made it to within a couple of hundred yards of my driveway last evening after attending a wedding and I seemed to have lost braking ability altogether. I had to use the emergency brake to guide the car down the driveway to a stop.
Seems odd that I would lose braking with a "P1026" engine code since that seems to be related to the ETM.
Any thoughts gentlemen? Can I even drive the car to a shop?
P1026 Engine Code?

Just a follow along to my original post. I have not attempted to clean the throttle body as yet and I am sure it needs it.
I will also look up some of my older posts, as someone in the past did show me what to do without disassembling the whole thing.

If you can crawl at 10-20 mph to the shop I will do that. Pick a deserted streets time. If it is too far to walk back from the shop , it’s too far for no brakes.

abscate, can you explain briefly why the brakes are affected when my mind says it is a throttle/engine issue?

When i re-install the throttle body, do I need to use any gasket sealing material other than the 4 hole gasket itself?

Ok, can someone please let me know if I plan to just clean the throttle body (remove it from the car) will I need to do any re-programming?
The car has been down all week and I don't want to make things worse by simply cleaning it.

Losing your brakes amd the throttle body are unrelated.
You can remove the throttle body and clean it with the correct cleaner ( not brake clean or carb clean) being careful not to get solvent into the holes of the plate pivot
Use a new gasket, no RTV or goop.

abscate. Just started to prepare to clean out the throttle body and when I removed the rubber hose, I noticed the butterfly or throttle plate is slightly open. I will assume that the inner plate travels 90 degrees when operating the car but is this normal or a bad sign that it is not completely closed?

The electronic throttle body deletes the idle air control valve ( maybe not onDenso cars?) as it can precisely meter idle air. More stuff you don’t need !Mr. Detail wrote: ↑30 Jul 2022, 10:50 abscate.
