srs urgent message after sunroof leak in heavy rain
2001 volvo v70. Sunroof clogged and we got torrential rain. Opened car and the drivers footwell had standing water in it and the steering wheel was wet, some water on dash as headliner had leaked. Used towels to soak up water and dry everything. Snaked sunroof drain. After that I tried to turn the car on and everything went nuts and then turned off (previously just turned key enough to open sunroof). Opened fuse panel on drivers side and and it had water in it, not a ton but water droplets. Unhooked battery, used blow dryer to dry visible water drops and then ran a dehumidifier and fan blowing through dash for two days. Reconnected battery today and everything seemed fine. Car ran fine, no issues with instrument panel but now the "srs urgent service required" message is on the dash. Initially the sunroof wasn't working but did the lock and unlock doors three times reset trick and that is fine now. Is there a connection in that footwell that could have been damaged causing the sos urgent message? Fuses are all fine. Thanks in advance for any help

Used code reader and no diagnostic codes come up. Just a regular code reader though, not VIDA.

You will need to reset the SRS warning using a Volvo compatible reader/tool like below. It cannot be reset any other way.

sounds like the srs circuit was interrupted before the battery was disconnected.englandfoamily wrote: ↑17 Aug 2022, 10:31 Used code reader and no diagnostic codes come up. Just a regular code reader though, not VIDA.
might be a good time to get a vida set up on a laptop.
