Greetings!
I have a 1999 V70 XC that is showing the code for front wheel speed sensors and the speedo/odo occasionally drops out. Although I think that the speedo issue is going to require a reprogramming of the ABS module, I have and would like to replace the wheel speed sensors as well.
I can remove the screw holding the sensor in place, but the sensor itself seems to be stuck. Looking at the replacements, it doesn't seem that there are any other attachment points on the lower side. Any sage advice on how to get these things out?
Take care and stay safe,
Brian

As you are replacing the sensors, then destruction is an option!
The usual problem is the hub assembly corrodes which builds up and swells jamming the sensor in place.
Breaking the unit off and then drilling out the core should allow you to carefully collapse the unit inwards to remove. Careful when drilling not to go too far and damage the reluctor ring it reads from on the axle.
Soaking with PB Blaster or like good penetrating oil for a couple of days may also help.
Worst case scenario is to disconnect the ball-joint on the strut and remove the axle bolt and you should be able to pull the axle out the strut to allow you to get a punch in from below. Don't go crazy as you don't want to damage the upper spring seat.
Maybe others have better wisdom?
Neil.

I personally wouldn't touch them unless you've verified there's an actual issue with them. If you do replace them don't use aftermarket pieces. 50/50 chance that they will actually work.
