2001 V70XC - Brake Booster Service Topic is solved

It is almost 3 years since the Brake line and Caliper Service with the help from y'all; more here viewtopic.php?t=91484. After reading several discussions on the brake booster, such as this one viewtopic.php?t=95730, I'm leaning to include few more items during the Brake Booster Service unless you say otherwise.

The number of items I'll remove along with the airbox makes it worth restoring vacuum line since it would help drivability and safety of motorist - the entire air intake was refreshed in the Fall of 2020, including ETM.

DO I replace the Seal between the fluid reservoir and master cylinder?



This model year doesn't have DSTC function hence no pump - simple. I'll replace all sections of vacuum line - large and small; WOULD replacing Ejector #30665561, and Check valve #9485451 make sense -- the vacuum line and fittings are original, so is the brake booster?

Found this...

That's a booster vacuum ejector. It's not a pump. I had to replace one recently, it runs off vacuum & is in the same circuit as your brake booster. If this part cracks or fails, you loose boosting to your brakes = HARD pedal & no assist.

Hey there X.. MDK here. You can try this inexpensive but somewhat difficult repair. I ordered a brake booster from Erie Volvo (vo-vo) and I'm going to order the Uro parts booster seal kit from rockauto. I have a hissing noise from the brake pedal (snake under foot) whether the car is running or no. I have a 2006 v70 2.5 turbo that I've been trying to get all the maintenance up to speed for the last six months. My symptoms are rough idle and almost stalling at a red light. Maybe this will help you.. don't know.

I'm going with replacing power brake booster; here is my progress with reaching the booster. The fuse box needed to disassembled from the housing for it to be moved out of the way.
Little intimidated, but closely reviewing our Peppermint's video contents for any gotchas.

You shouldn’t have to. I think what I did was disconnect the two cylinder-to-brake module lines at the module and left them connected to the cylinder. Just put a rag under it when you disconnect it and then transfer the cylinder, with reservoir, and lines to a bucket, keeping the ends of the lines slightly elevated in relation to the reservoir. Have the two cylinder mounting nuts removed before you disconnect the two lines from the brake module so that you can promptly slide the cylinder off of the booster once the lines are free. The lines may drip some but it won’t be much.

^got it, thank you! Is the brake pedal depressed during above procedure?
If so, would the brake pedal be released after; i.e., to continue with brake booster removal steps.

Now I'm step away from removing the booster, but ABS module is giving a challenge. How to disconnect this cable connector?

When you lift the cover off it , that should release the slide that lets the connector pull up and off. It’s similar to the OXS connectors.

Sometimes the plastic breaks and the slide lock stays in place. It can be eased out with a small screwdriver. It slides perpendicular to the connector axis
