So having seen some pretty incredible examples of rusty components on these cars, I thought it would be interesting ( jaw dropping ) to put them in one gallery. As I live in the southwest, I can't contribute, but I grew up in D.C, so I'm familiar with the problem. And from what I've seen posted, there should be no shortage of entries from other salt loving areas.

Good Golly Miss Molly ! A little more than what I had seen posted before.

However, on a good note, it appears that most of the rust is on bolt-on undercarriage components, not structural bits. American cars seem to rust out their floor pans and bodies first. My '65 Mustang convertible was so bad that I had to use a jack under the car just to close the doors.
I'd rather deal with rusted struts than rusted floor pans any day.
