Transmission, 1991, 740 Turbo Wagon

When I first start the car it has a hard time going from 1st to 2nd until it warms up. Once it is warm, it shifts fine. Checked the fluid. Any suggestions?

Sounds like you need to clean or change the transmission filter. The one in my 1986 is a fine metal mesh screen. Yours may be the same. They can accumulate debris in the mesh that doesn't flush out during routine fluid dumps. Give that a try first.
