I've recently purchased a 2006 XC-70 CC that had changed hands a couple of times, and I don't have contact with the owner who'd swapped out the factory head unit for an aftermarket Pioneer AVH-X3700BHS. The Pioneer unit isn't bad, I like that it allows me the use of an iPod I'd refitted with an SD card and that I can use HD radio, but obviously the loss of parking sensors is not great.
What I'm curious about is what choices I've got in retrofitting the nav screen. I've looked here and elsewhere and I'm not getting a lot of info and obviously this would have been easier ten years ago. Has anyone any knowledge of a viable repurposing of the navigation screen? I'm not getting a response from mine when I press the Enter button, I hear a quick attempt from a motor in the dash and then nothing, I figure something or other is disconnected as the fuses appear to be fine. If I could even just use the screen for a rear camera, I'd be happy.
