Gas needle stays hovering near full 06 s60

Post by chris11211 »

Had my gas near half the other day, but then i noticed today that my gas is now near full. On occasions the needle will go down one notch, and also no one else drives.

I'm not sure if I should change the whole fuel pump or just the other lever sensor, and if there's a way to tell when i am low on gas for easy repairs. Thoughts?

Actually,

A bottle of Techron (or Lubro Molly) FI cleaner every
2-3 months should clean up any deposit on the floater.

So when I started up again this morning the needle was near half, but as the car started warming up it started to go near full on its own.

Edit:

So I managed to get into the driver's side fuel level sensor on top and I managed to tap on it with a ratchet and now it seems the level is correct, but still should I bother with replacing it? It seems very cheap. Or should I just throw in a techron?
