While waiting on the FCPEuro mule train to deliver PCV components (3 days late so far), I thought I would change the rear camshaft seals on the Austin Auction Rescue. https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/foru ... p?t=104303
On disassembly I was surprised to see the intake cam seal was completely missing!
But my question - Do the numbers engraved in the end of the camshafts have any significance?
There are also numbers on the cam cover, “8145” in this case, on both the upper and lower halves, along with the engine number on the bottom half. But neither of these are the same as the cams.
It’s obviously not a big deal, I’m just curious if anyone knows the purpose of these numbers.
