Recently I've noticed the temp will creep up past the middle of the gauge when the car is not moving and there is no sound from the cooling fan. Temps get very up there (240+ if I don’t shut the engine down) However, the fan responds when I activate it via VIDA. One weird thing that's happening is that the fan is cycling at 100% and 50% DC, however it stays on solid if I choose 25% DC. Is this by design?
Codes are ECM-6110 and ECM-6100
Any ideas what the culprit might be? Failing driver? Something else?

the coolant temp sensor might be faulty.
compare what its reporting to the ecm vs a heat gun on the thermostat housing.
don't buy a cheap sensor.
cooling fan should turn on above 220F.

Temps (at least in OBD) is correct and is getting to 240+ at low speed/stopped when ambient is 80+.
Unless there’s a separate sensor for the fan (like BMW). If I don’t shut the engine down, it’ll continue to increase. Fan also does not activate when A/C is running.
Once I get rolling at 30MPH+ temps drop to around 190.
I’m pretty convinced it’s a fan\fan control issue. Updated my original post to give more specifics.

well if the fan cycles on with vida commands the fan is good.
so the ecm to fan circuit is ok but its not gettin a data signal from the sensors....or the signal is innacurate.
theres a pressure sensor in the ac system and coolant temp sensor next to the thermostat.
Either sensor can turn it on.
its easy to check the ect sensor, just read the temp in vida when the engine is cold from sitting overnits.
typically when the fan relay fails the fan stays on and runs the battery down.
when the thermostat fails it stays stuck open and the engine doesn't warm up above 165F.

Thanks. ECT numbers are plausible when checked, thermostat is open for sure. Do you know the fan should cycle, or stay on when it's activated by VIDA?

The control module has internal failure - there are capacitors that die throug time and needs replacement

Sometimes the electrolytes runs out and destroys the main board and it's elements.
The fan cold be replaced for the restyle one
You will have an error ECM-6110 in case of replacing fan-module for the restyle one, high efficiency type - it has twice much blades on it, and integrated with motor control unit
People say the configuration should be changed at dealer of elsewhere for ECM to realize that new unit type was installed. Unfortunately its not "plug and play"
Have same issue by now. Fan is working fine and correct, only the error in Vida is an issue.
That's the comparison pics
