Parking sensor...how to disable?

2006 XC70 backed up into something...no dents, etc....but there is a message that my parking sensor is in need of repair. Did a scan...said that #4 is faulty. I do not use these sensors...my aftermarket radio eliminated the use of them...I would have had to purchase a $200 add-on to have them functional....Driving all these years without the sensors. HOWEVER...Can I disconnect anything that will eliminate the dash message? I really don't feel like taking off the whole bumper assembly to replace one sensor that I don't use.
