VIDA Question - 2000 V70R - p0014

Hi everyone,

Before I purchase vida/dice, I was hoping an experienced user could help me out. Is there a means through the software to actually verify if my camshaft position sensor is working properly?

FWIW, I am chasing a p0014 on my 2000 V70R, and I think it's most likely a timing issue. I know I can use the software for the vvt solenoid, but it seems to be working properly, and it is only 3k miles (7 years) old. I am at 109.7K miles now.

Just trying to sort out if purchasing VIDA/Dice will actually help rule out some of the other potential causes of this code, and I don't want to just throw parts at it.

Unfortunate timing. This weekend I hope to be looking at a P0016 (cam/crank sensor) on a 2002 XC70 which so far, in spite of swapping parts and testing and comparing, I have not been able to track down the cause. Now I did find in this case the code generally means cam sensor but have just discovered it can be a crank sensor on the same code.

Probably won't be until Sunday unfortunately. I do have a 2000 V70R as well and they are the same as the early P2 turbo's in having only an exhaust cam cvvt solenoid and cam position solenoid.
