240 tail light problem.... different than normal
93 244. New to me car, my passenger side tail cluster had a few problems as they all do. Rather than cut and hardwire the tails, I just ordered a cluster from Autohaus. All is fine BUT my running light, the one that glows when headlights are on won't burn. Swapped sockets from other side, nope. So of the 5 lights it's the only one that won't burn. Would it be crazy to run a jumper from the driver side or should I cut the wire, add some length, direct wire that one connection?

Did you order and replace the printed circuit board contact part or what are you referring to as the cluster?
Have you checked that you have power at the contact points for that bulb?
Do you have power to the connector from the wires at the circuit board?
As you indicated, the contact points, wiring connector and the sockets can go bad on these tail lights. I would try to find and fix the real problem rather than cut up the wiring.

The cluster/lense assembly came with a new ribbon on the back. I’ll have to double check but I believe when I checked the pin I wasn’t getting power. That’s why I was wondering about cutting the wire to rule out the pin to wire connection inside the clip.

I have seen the pins connections at the end of the wire harness get burned. You should be able to check power at the harness connector after removing it from the ribbon (printed circuit). Also inspect the appearance of the pins.
