Hello all,
I just had to replace the bushings for the driver door latch and in the process of getting to the door latch, I removed the bolts for the window regulator panel, not realizing that the whole window regulator was connected to it. I undid the bolts so I could move the panel down to get better access to the latch. In doing this, somehow the track for the window got knocked loose and I'm not sure if it's something that's supposed to be attached inside the door or if I can just pop it back in place. The piece that came off looks like it has a bracket that might've snapped off from the car. Now the window rolls up at a weird angle and I have to wiggle it to get it to roll up all the way. The window will also not roll down all the way
Any advice on if there is a way to put this back in place or if I messed something up permanently. I've attached a picture of the piece of the track that came off

In your 2nd picture, you can see at the bottom of your hand there is what remains of the lower mount. If you look at the back edge of the door you will see a Torx screw. It will be attached to the other part of the broken mounting bracket. Like many parts on cars of this age, they become brittle after 30 years of the door being slammed. Typically it is only the driver's front door that breaks.
Bad news is I believe these are now no longer available new. Part # 6 in the attached link:

You can replace it with the part from a V/S70 but again it is NLA. So used is the likely source. Check the felting for wear.
The only difference is the later part is help in place by a rivet in place of the bolt.
Neil.

All I can suggest is to take the bracket to someone who can weld and see if they can rejoin the 2 parts and reinforce it in a way to strengthen the crack to buy you time. It may last a long time if done well, but worth keeping an eye out for a spare.
