2004 S60R ECM-91C7 Throttle Valve

Post by Chrisdoug307 »

I have DTC •ECM-91C7 Throttle Valve, The pervious owner gave me 2 extra throttle bodies. One is a new ebay one and the other is a used OEM one. I installed the ebay one and it would not sweep or nothing I couldn't get it to perform the Throttle unit adaptation with the Autel scanner. So I installed the used one and with the key on I got it do the Throttle unit adaptation. I could see the value change when I did the active test. Soon as I start it will die and I have to throttle. The pervious owner told me its CEM getting to hot, he installed a computer fan and and heat sink on the chip for this reason he said. Do you think its that or do I need to get a new throttle body and wire harness?
Thank you and sorry for the long post.

We may need some more information here.
Is this S60R new to you and you are trying to get to run? Or have you had it running/ driving and it quit?
Can you read any codes?
What is the general maintenance state of the engine? Lots of miles?

not new to me, was running and driving fine, has 150k on it. I was driving and stopped at a light and then let the clutch out and it went into limp mode. The code is ECM-91C7. i have searched and read a lot of post about it. That say to replace the throttle body and harness, just wanted to see if anyone has seen the CEM cause this before I spend money on the wrong thing

2004 did indeed have an issue with the harness and connector. I would ohm it out and make sure you have continuity from each pin back to the ecm

Much of my time during the job is spent hauling things up and down the stairs to the basement or in and out of the storage shed, or running back downstairs when I realize I need something else,or taking a break from standing out in the sun,or using flashlights or work lamps when it gets dark.
