2024 XC90 T8 Hybrid

Hello all. Just brought my barely 1 year on XC90 in for routine maintenance and they claim they hear a noise from the engine (I’ve never heard a noise) and now they told me they will be replacing the engine

I’m at 15,000 miles. Anyone ever had this happen? Do I have a lemon? I haven’t had one problem with it since I’ve purchased it (except for little design issues I hate).

The newer cars (>2020) are supposed to be more reliable than ones older than 2020. If the car is under warranty then not a big issue I guess, but I would ask them for more information as to the diagnosis that brought them to that conclusion. If you are not technical either take a friend along who is, or ask them to explain it to you in lay-man terms.

Disappointing if the issue is that bad so early. Good if they are replacing it under warranty and you are not paying for it.
