1998 V70XC - Filling up the fuel tank, premature shut-off from gas pump

Went to fill up Saskia today, and had a curious development in light of the recent repairs. Upon trying to fill up the tank, the nozzle shut off at 4 gallons and did not want to let any more in. I know this isn’t enough to fill the tank based on the recent repairs and how much driving I’ve done (should be nearly empty at this point).

Current related things:
- Fuel gauge reading incorrectly (way too high)
- P0455 (EFI-611 Fuel tank system large leak)
- CI-113 Fuel Level Sensor Signal too high

I’m thinking something with a pressure issue within the EVAP system is causing the pump to shut off prematurely…

Reading through the EVAP theory of function thread (link: https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/foru ... hp?t=54591) which has my knee-jerk reaction at something with the ORVR valve/hosing malfunctioning. Lifting up the access hatch below all the electrical connectors for the fuel pump/ABS wheel speed sensors does reveal a smell of gas fumes.

Edit: I should mention that I’ve replaced a majority of the EVAP system hoses and components, with the rear of the car being the area least touched. In the first post for the main thread on Saskia, I have a mention of things there (linked in signature)

Update on this, did some driving around today to where I wanted to put more fuel in the tank, and in doing so I tried filling it slower and with the nozzle not 100% inserted.

In doing so, after finessing the fuel filler a little bit, some fuel backed out into the silver cylinder portion of the fuel fill hole on the car, eventually slowly going on as I held the little green door open with the nozzle. I could also see fuel vapors coming out of that hole.

Going to take a look at things later tonight, still hunting around (in my limited time) trying to find discussions on this sort of issue

The evap hoses have to free and clear to vent the tank on filling
