CR709 radio

Post by Tomca_ »

Hello everybody,

I have a nice 1990 740 GL car with a Grundig radio. A week before, I could obtain an original Volvo CR709 car-radio and I decided to build in. It has a special 14 pin father plug on it's back.

Unfortunately, I could not get a proper radio cable, therefore I decided to make an own wire between the car socket and the radio plug.

I had no problem with the 9 ple car socket. I measured the following:
Image

Pinout Explanation
1 constant 12 V, green/red (brownishgreen) wire
2 switched 12 V, orange (orange) wire
3 antenna trigger, red (red/white) wire
4 left front +, white/yellow (blue/yellow) wire
5 right front +, gray/yellow (gray/white) wire
6 illumination, gray (bluishgray) wire
7 left front
