I have two s70, love them both, one is a GLT,
Both s70 have cracked the door stop part of the driver side door hinge,
(loud crack when opening door)
is this common or am I just uncommonly "lucky"to have both car stops break?
Also,
Is there a way to reset 1998 S70 service light? I'm was told it was the only year that must be reset at the dealer, is this true or can it be done another way (have tried with a fault indicator)
Also I'm getting rain water in my trunk (a lot over time), and also inside rear compartment around the upper window appears to be spitting water when raining,
Could this be caused by my sun-roof not properly sealing? (running thru the roof to the rear)?
Is there an upgrade chip for my non turbo S70 (alittle sluggish) and where can I get one? Thanks

ya its pretty common for the door to "pop". to fix that you will have to weld the cracked or broked part of the hing from teh door to the car (if you look at it you will notice it is broken)

Volvo has a serious problem with front door checks which they are not willing to admit. It is a very common failure, and volvo will not fix the door stop. It cost me $200 to get it fixed.Anonymous wrote:ya its pretty common for the door to "pop". to fix that you will have to weld the cracked or broked part of the hing from teh door to the car (if you look at it you will notice it is broken)

Yeah the door on my S70 broke too. It's best to get it fixed early. You don't want your door swinging wide and hitting the fender after it comes all the way loose.
