Car has 122k miles.
I recently had my front end up and decided to do a 9-3 test. I have noticed a noticeable movement in the horizontal plane about strut assembly. Moreover when I push it hard enough I hear the same "Gr...Gr..." sound as I hear when I am slowing down from low speeds; it just goes "Gr... Gr..." even on smooth pavement. Also the same or nearly the same sound comes when I do turns sometimes. Also some kind of creaking comes from the back occasionally, although I did not look at that just yet.
I will be replacing strut inserts (hopefully just that and not strut mounts) over this weekend and will have most of the front end apart. What should I look after as far as identifying where this noise is coming from?
I've read about bushing? Also about tie end rods and ball joints. Will do spraying of the bushing to see if the problem goes away and it's just the bushings waiting to be replace.
Could it be something else? Has anyone had similar problems and possibly nice solutions?
Thanks.
