Vehicle Speed Sensor and Xmsn Speed Sensor - 95 and 97 850

Post by kenboyd »

I have a 1995 850 GLT with a blown engine and ok transmission that I have removed from the vehicle. I separated the engine from the transmission and went shopping for an engine. I found an engine and transmission from a 1997 and chose to buy the unit all together to save some hassle. My original transmission has the vehicle speed sensor, but the transmission speed sensor (the one by the wiring harness lug) is not there and the boss in the housing is not even bored out.

Conversely, on the 97 transmission, the transmission speed sensor is there, but there is only a depression where the vehicle speed sensor goes. Not bored all the way in, and no hole for the screw.

Both are AW50-42LE.

Can I use the 97, or will I have to swap?

Ken
