I have a horrible vibration on hard acceleration when turning. I took it to the dealer to check out and they said I need lower a arm bushings, both sides. driver's are worse than passenger's. They want about $500 to replace. I have found the parts and can do both sides for about $100 with good quality parts from a reputable dealer. My question is has anyone done this on this model car before? I see where it has been done on older carsd and there are great instruction sets posted within the forum on older cars, but I have not seen one for this model. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Do the bushings have to be hydraulic pressed in the a arm? Should I go ahead and replace the strut cushions also? I hear these could be cracked or broken down also. The tires scrub the inner fender wells when turning hard or when on a bumpy road. This has been a good car mechanically, but it rides like a buckboard.
Thanks for your help,

You may be better off just buying new control arms, much quicker to install and don't forget that alignment.
Yes, Volvo's ball joints/control arm bushings do fail
(along with many other parts that shouldn't fail)
