blue smoke at start up

my '98 V70R has been showing some of blue smoke at morning start up and blows out for maybe 5-10 seconds after i take off. i suspect it is the turbo seals, but would appreciate any other opinions. my indie doesn't seem to think its a big deal, but as much as we love this car, if it is going to fail I would rather "get it gone" sooner than later.

Clean/replace the pcv, clean the throttle body and the MAF sensor. If that doesn't do it, don't worry to much about it. You will see more smoke than usual...it's cold and some of it's just condensation burning off in the mornings.

The PCV system replacement is quite extensive. There are pictures of this over on Volvospeed.com message board, but you'll need to do a search. The short of it is that the small rubber vacuum lines that run from the bottom of the accordion hose that runs from the air box to the turbo has to be disconnected and replaced and the connector cleaned as well as where the line that goes from this to the vacuum tree (near the throttle) and oil separator under the intake manifold (also best to replace the oil separator). For this reason the intake manifold has to come off. www.fcpgroton.com has an entire kit they sell for this (minus the intake manifold gasket, which you'll have to buy separately). Go to the site and you'll see a diagram of the entire system for your car.
