98 S70 Power Door Locks Topic is solved

Hello

I have a 98 S70 and I have a problem with my power door locks.

The driver and rear passenger will not unlock when I use the power locks or the remote. The driver lock will unlock manually or with the key.

I assume its a common issue, but I haven't been able to find a answer to fixing this problem.

Your power door lock problem sounds almost exactly like mine.

I took the whole lock assembly apart and found that it's not electrical and the problem (in all 3 of my doors) is mechanical. If you look inside the lock actuator housing, you most likely discover that there's a tiny, plastic gear or piece missing.

Through different resources and numerous inquires, I've found the only way to fix it is to replace the lock actuators. Approx $110 each door at the Volvo dealership.
