Removing 2000 S40 A pillar trim - interior?

Post by DenverC70 »

I need to hook up the wires for a new sun visor. Any tips on removing the cloth covered interior A pillar trim? Pull in towards center of dash, or up, down, other? Is it just plastic posts into clips, or what? I hate breaking trim because I cannot see how it's fastened, only to learn how to do it right the second time.

Strangely enough VADIS does not give a procedure for this for the 2000 model. 1996 -'99 are shown as are 2001 - '04.

This is how it is done for the 2001 - '04:

The earlier models show one plastic clip at the top with the instruction "Pull the panel away from the window frame. Remove the paneel in an upward direction."
