Trans fluid leak 850 non-turbo wagon
Trans fluid leak 850 non-turbo wagon
Out of the blue I noticed a tennis ball sized spot on the garage floor. Im 99% sure its trans fluid. I jacked up the car and looked underneath. After wiping everything clean I ran it through tall the gears L-P and checked aagain. It looks to be coming from the driver side axle where it goes into (whatever that is ) in the direction of the wheel. Any ideas?

Check your transmission lines and your steering rack. You hardly ever hear of the actual transmission leaking but you do hear of lines getting old and doing so. Also the power steering uses the same fluid.

Not sure exactly what you're talking about. If you mean it's leaking where the axle plugs into the transmission, then the axle seal needs to be replaced. Not a big job; just remove the axle and pull out the seal and tap in a new one.
