HELP !!! broken cam bearing stud

Post by jguerra3235 »

My cheap @$$ torque wrench does not click at 15 foot pounds. I found out the hard way. I snapped a stud on a cam bearing cap. I need to get this car back on the road today. I am fixing to go to the local pick and pull yard to get a used one. Are they pressed in or screwed in ??? What is the best way to remove and reinstall one of these studs. There is about a 1/4 inch left on the broken stud.

Welcome to Matthew's Volvo Site.

The stud is screwed in. You may be able to remove it with a locking (Mole type) wrench and lots of releasing oil.
