Although IPD sells this for quite a bit, what they have is the same thing as what VW had in their B3 and B4 Passat's....relay #99. This is what I got a few years ago from eBAy. Occasionally I take a look and see if there are any more there. Today, I found 2 and thought I would pass on the info if someone is interested: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/VW-99-RE ... 18Q2el1247
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/VOLKSWAG ... 0175222237
When I got mine, not many had caught on to what these were worth to people and I only paid about $5 plus shipping. Unfortunately now, you're hard pressed to find one for under $20.
Anyone in need of the intermittant wiper relay?

First come first serve....just go to eBay and bid on one of the two. Prices are about the same after shipping! If IPD says it fits your car then these will work the same. To install, take the sound panel out under the steering wheel and replace the relay #203 that is already in there....simple as that. Now when you go from no wiper to intermittent back down to no wiper with your wiper arm, it wil remember how much delay and replicate it up to 20 some seconds. It's very handy and great for slight rain. I've found that now unconsciously I'm setting and resetting mine depending on how much rain is hitting the windshield....it's second nature to have this thing!

Hello, I could use some assistance - I just replace my old relay (203) with one (VW 99) I purchased from ebay. It seemed easy, pulled the old out and slipped the new (actually used) in. Now when I move the arm to the intermittent setting and wait to set the wipers, lets say at the 10 second mark they move on or around the six second mark. I tried it several times but to no avail, I can not get the wipers past the OEM setting. What am I missing.
Thanks in advance,

FWIW, I think these things may have a capacitor that eventually fails.newowner wrote:Hello, I could use some assistance - I just replace my old relay (203) with one (VW 99) I purchased from ebay. Thanks in advance,
In the last few weeks, mine has begun behaving the same way.
I swapped one in about 5 years agos and it worked fine, but now,
regardless of what I do, it seems to trigger in a short, fixed way.
I haven't had a chance to pull things apart and look yet,
but my variable timing is also Tango Uniform.
Anyone else have this problem?
