Replaced a defective Power Seat Control Unit. Seat works fine now. However, when moving the seat forward and backward (short person, tall person), I hear a periodic drag each second as the seat moves forward. If I move the seat all the way forward, the switch doesn't work at all. I then have to push the seat back slightly by hand for the switch to work again. Again, it goes back just fine but with this same drag each second as it moves backward.
This seems to me to point to the unit near the track that drives the gear. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Scott

These are a real pain in my experience. Make sure your motor and connections are tight. If the tracks are completly in synchrony you may get some binding too. First try to loosen the 4 bolts holding the unit to the floor and see if that allows the seat to travel. If so, tighten down. If by chance it has jumped track a notch or two you may need to take the seat out, turn it over and loosen one of the sides or tracks and then count off the exact number of notches and reassemble.
Other things that can go bad are the cables.
Good luck.

It is running on the track fine as it moves forward and backward just with the noted slight drag sound every second or so, almost as if it occurs with each of a revolution or something. If necessary, do you know where motors and other associated parts can be viewed online for possible purchase?
