Just picked up a 02 V70 2.4 SE and noticed that the load cover doesn't snap back into the holder without some manual spinning of the roller.
One end of the holder comes off - so I've tried unwinding it to the end fitting back in the car then retracting - with no joy, and tried to manually wind it all up before putting back in the car, but I can't seem to get it to stay tight
Any ideas?
Putting the spring back in the load cover? 02 V70

Welcome to Matthew's Volvo Site.
Just like a roller blind you need to tension the spring with the fabric retracted. Wind it all back in then turn the spring in the direction that it will turn when the cover is pulled out. It is a case of trial and error to get the right tension so keep doing it until it is right.

Bill - just a quick note to say a huge thank you - used your advice today and it worked! it doesn't quite retract fully - about 3 inches stays out but after 2 attempts to tension the spring I decided not to chance my luck and leave it as it is!
Great advice - thanks again!

Matt
