2002 Volvo S60 AT tranny hesitation

Well my boss bought that used S60 he was looking at. Very nice car, a 2002 with only 67,000 miles on it. Looks like it just came off the showroom floor. The previous owner (adult female) had every document of service from the dealer...no issues and well maintained. My first look at the car was after he bought it.

One thing I noticed about the car is that at a stoplight, when foot going from brake to gas, there's a slight hesitation (like a very muted "clunk" feeling) which seems to be transmission related (not engine). It's an automatic.

Does this car automatically shift into neutral when stopped, and what I'm feeling is the shift back into drive upon take-up? Or is there something here that should be further investigated?

I don't think the '02's had the stop-neutral "feature," but possibly some early '02's did...have her take it to the dealer and have the latest transmission download done.

Wasn't supposed to have it but he should immediately get a TRANNY FLUSH and ANY available software downloaded, this should make it much better
