I would think you're leaking at one of the hoses...upper hose on the passenger side or lower one on the driver's side. If your car has a lower plastic engine cover, take it off so you can see...the cover itself is probably responsible for "transporting the fluid" over to and dumping it on the driver's side. What I'm thinking is shrinkage and expansion of the hoses depending on how often and how long you drive, thus creating the leak. I don't suspect an actual radiator leak because if it was so, the leak would not be intermittent.
Don't listen to the near $800 replacement....btw, replacement of WHAT??? Without establishing where the leak was, they would be hard pressed to get things right and it would ALL be out of your pocket.
