Hi, I need to replace my cat converter, however I want to buy a mag flow, and was wondering if you guys know any nation wide shops such as Midas, Tires plus, Pep boys etc. whom would weld the Mag Flow Cat Converter.

Also what is the size 2.5 or 2.25 inches? I am confused? Its 97 non turbo Wagon 850

Your best bet is to have a reputable muffler shop do everything for you. They will be cheaper and do a much better job than a PepBoys or some other general auto parts type chain store.

I thought that your stock downpipe was 2.5" (inlet for the CAT) and stock exhaust was 2.25" but after some research I found that on your year's NA model (non-turbo) it is apparently 2.25" and 2.25" out. So the CAT you found on eBay should work fine, but here's another that is cheaper w/ free shipping: http://www.magnaflowexhausts.com/produc ... uctid=8254 and this is the one that folks over on Volvospeed are recommending if you don't want to modify any of your exhaust. However, if you want to spend a bit of money and get more power, you could go to a 2.5 outlet (CAT would have to have a larger opening to the muffler). NA's will get more power if you open up the exhaust as well as get freer flow on the front end (a filter such as a K&N and possibly a cold air intake), but for the money you spend you really won't get more than about 15 to at the most 20 horse power increase. Most muffler shops can weld and fab pipes and if you choose to go that route, I would highly recommend mandrel bent piping. However, whatever you get fabbed up, you need to make sure they put a bung in after the CAT for your 02 sensor.
