Check the grounding of the engine. From the car body it is going a blue thick cable to the battery minus pole, continouing to the starter. This cable can be dammage by corrosion or broken by vibrations. Especially when passing under the front underside of the engine. Probably you have one more ground connection at the back top of the engine. You seems to have a voltage meter. Check with the voltage meter if you have a voltage difference between the engine block and the car body. If you have a clear difference when the engine is running and the head lights are on, you have a bad grounding.
